Hempsi is one of the few CBD producers with a trademarked product – but what makes Hempsi™ High CBD, Whole Flower LIVE OIL™ different from all the other hemp-derived cannabinoid extracts?
The secret is FREEZING…
For years the marijuana industry has understood the benefit of freezing buds to preserve compounds in the flower that will be processed into concentrated “live resin” extract. So we learned from this more mature market and flash-froze our hemp flowers less than 2 hours after harvest at -200 degrees.
And when our third-party lab partner tested our extract, we were thrilled! Our LIVE OIL™ has a strong, wide range of cannabinoids and a jaw-dropping level of terpenes – 18% in one batch! – and consistently more than 10%.
Starting with carefully curated high-CBD, terpene-rich, USDA-certified organic strains of hemp exclusive to Hempsi™, the plants are raised with care on a fourth-generation family farm in Oregon. The flowers are meticulously hand-picked 15% earlier than traditional methods, as this is the apex of terpene production, giving our oil a broader profile with maximum flavor, rich aromas and a range of benefits.
Then the pivotal step – immediate freezing of the flowers. This method immediately stops further maturity and preserves the fragile compounds, including the full range of beneficial cannabinoids, which degrade quickly when exposed to heat; and sought-after terpenes, which will evaporate. The compounds are kept together as nature intended, maximizing interactivity.
The plants remain frozen until the Hempsi extraction lab is ready to process. The latest hydrocarbon extraction technology is used, a closed-loop system with a proprietary technique that leaves zero residuals. During extraction, the chambers reach negative 110 degrees, gently releasing the trichomes from the flower. This additionally eliminates the need for further filtration or winterization.
Extraction from frozen hemp has been proven to provide the highest consistency in final concentrated product output, given the elimination of variables from field to lab. And since the plant remains frozen until extraction, Hempsi™ can provide LIVE OIL at any time of year, removing restrictions of farming cycles and keeping the product fresh and consistent long after harvest.
